That's why wishing to settle in Loo, the slipways near the sea immediately began to enjoy increased popularity. But when the number of tourists and holidaymakers far exceeded the number of places in hotels and private homes of the village, garages were demolished and in their place built slipways.Ĭool morning sunrises, picturesque maroon sunsets, fresh air and a beautiful view from the windows, terraces, balconies - an ideal option for living. Ellings: features and differencesĮarlier in Loo, part of the shore was built up with boat garages, designed for storing catamarans, boats, boats. So called comfortable, cozy cottages, where you can live as a couple, and the whole company, spending time in a pleasant, warm, almost home atmosphere. But if you plan to relax in Loo, then there are quite a few other accommodation options besides the hotels - the private sector provides a lot of different types of housing, from economy class rooms to living quarters, equivalent to standard hotel rooms.Īnother option for accommodation in Loo is the slipways by the sea. Going to spend vacations outside the house, everyone in advance plans where to spend a vacation, and tries to book a hotel room. A wide beach strip is equipped with various water activities, including water skiing, diving, jet ski.Īs the settlement is small, within walking distance are various objects, without which a holiday in Loo is practically impossible: But the main pride of the village are beaches with small pebbles, mixed with sand - it's nice to walk on such a surface. This is an aqua park that works all year round. The main entertainment facility is AquaLoo. Features of the villageĭespite the fact that the village is not very large, a holiday in Loo is never boring. ![]() Those who come to rest in Sochi often have their favorite places in this city. And it's true - this southern city enjoys incredible popularity among those who do not imagine rest without the sea, sun and fun entertainments. The heroine of one of the famous films said the phrase, which became winged: in Sochi everyone rested at least once in life. ![]() ![]() While there are times when that additional hardware can generate more robust image quality, Rucker says the additional hardware doesn’t usually come with a great ROI - “mainly because the 360° technology will only yield an experience as engaging as the story being told,” he explains. He tends to recommend cameras like the RICOH that serve as an “out-of-the-box solution” and don’t require a supplementary rig, which is essentially any additional hardware that supports the camera. “It also comes down to budget and comfort level,” says Watkins, noting that beginners might want to start with something like a RICOH, which is a single unit and only has two sensors - the behind-the-lens technology that captures the image - producing lower-resolution results than something more advanced. When selecting a camera, there are a few items to consider, like what you want to use the video for, and where you want to share it. So when you set out to create your 360° video, figure out what that experience looks like - and remember, don’t be “lazy” about it. ![]() In other words, the real value of this kind of content is to give the user a sense of what it’s like to use your product or service. We're able to view everything and see what every chef in the kitchen is doing, but our eyes are drawn to the chef that's currently speaking. Take this video of a cooking competition, for example. Instead, he says, he finds the best content that allows the user to look anywhere or everywhere, "but there's something specific that grabs my attention.” “People just stick a 360° camera in the middle of the room and hit 'record.' That actually detracts from the viewer's attention,” he explained. When we spoke with Michael Rucker of OmniVirt, the makers of 360° video content delivery technology, he cautioned against creating something “lazy.” ![]() When I asked if I could borrow his GoPro to tinker around, for example, he warned me, “Getting it set up, shooting, and actually looking at the footage will run you most of the day.” So when you film a 360° video, plan it like you would any other full-day project, and consider building in extra time, depending on how much footage you film. Watkins also encourages potential 360° video creators to understand how much of an undertaking it can be. Those are the types of situations that are enhanced by this particular video format. That could be why many of the most popular 360° videos pertain to travel or unique experiences - see below. “The content has to support that.”įor that reason, he says, there are very few situations when creating video in 360° is actually “necessary.” But there are occasions when it’s useful - for example, if you’re trying to create an enhanced, but virtual experience of a certain setting. “When you share a 360° video, you're asking the viewer to take a larger role in experiencing it,” says Matthew Watkins, HubSpot’s senior video editor and animator. How to Create 360° Video: The Ultimate Guide 1) Have a good reason to shoot it. Not sure where to begin? We've got you covered with these five steps. Like any other visual content, it has to be created and shared strategically. No wonder that 360° video is becoming so popular - it virtually creates those experiences for us, right from the comfort of our online devices.īut 360° video - which could be described as a form of virtual reality that creates immersive visual content without additional hardware other than a screen - isn't as easy as buying a new camera and uploading your video online. We tell our friends about them, post the pictures and videos we've captured on social media, and - when they're really good - try to relive them. It seems that we're starting to prefer living those experiences over having material possessions. Whether it's a great party, the trip of a lifetime, or a particularly hilarious comedy show, having lived through it makes us want to talk about it. There's something to be said for a truly remarkable experience. It’s kind of dark, navy blue in color, and features the name of the house and fragrance in golden lettering, along with the human-animal hybrid portraits which are the hallmark of all Zoologist bottle designs. ![]() The construction of the box is sturdy and just feels premium. The box of Zoologist Squid, and all Zoologist fragrances, is great. The presentation of Zoologist Squid is fantastic. If I were to describe Zoologist Squid in a few words, they would be: salty, aquatic, smoky, resinous, slightly spicy, and slightly sweet. But in the next instant, it is gone, and all that is left is the church, its doors thrown open to the sea, and the faint metallic odor of spilled ink. The gilded sand sparkles brilliantly in the watery sunlight, and quickly obscures everything – but for half of a moment, you think you might’ve spotted the vast, unblinking eye of a squid staring back at you through the haze. Suddenly, the doors of the church open, and a cloud of golden sand is kicked up, along with a haze of incense smokes from the swinging psalters and burning braziers within. It conjures up an image in my mind of a church on the bottom of the sea, silhouetted by gently undulating sunbeams. It’s subtle, and you might not immediately smell Squid and think, “That’s ink!” However, repeated wearings reveal the ink note folded brilliantly into the swathes of incense smoke and resins, a sharp, slightly metallic nuance which is just evident enough to add some interest.Īnd that’s basically what you get for the remainder of the fragrance: incense, resins, a bit of salt, and a slight metallic twang. In the mid, the ink note, perhaps the hallmark of the fragrance, begins to emerge. If you like incense and have always wanted an aquatic incense fragrance, this might very well be the one you’re looking for. The incense and resins, on the other hand, stay strong and steady throughout the life of the fragrance. Shortly after the opening blast, the saltiness starts to calm down, but never entirely goes away. Underlying that intense saltiness is an equally intense, smoky chord of incense and almost gingerbread-like resins, a quality characteristic of opoponax. The fragrance opens with an explosion of salt and pink pepper, along with what I assume is amyl salicylate, an aroma chemical which is said to resemble the scent of unripe banana. It wouldn’t be my first choice for a scent I’d want my significant other to wear, but it just goes to show that this is far from the dark, sinister kind of fragrance you (and I, for that matter) had in mind. She is not a fraghead like me, but she immediately gravitated towards this scent and wanted a bottle practically as soon as she’d smelled it. In fact, as strange as it might seem, this is my girlfriend’s signature scent. Top Notes: incense, pink pepper, amyl salicylateīase Notes: ambergris, benzoin, musk Scent Descriptionįirst thing’s first, I’ll say this – despite the somewhat foreboding appearance of the bottle and the notes, this is actually a wonderful and quite pleasant fragrance (if you like incense, that is). Want to know more? Let’s take a closer look in my Zoologist Squid review. With a unique scent profile, incredible performance, and high-quality presentation, Zoologist Squid is a great fragrance for those looking for a niche fragrance that is different, but not too challenging. Zoologist Squid is an aquatic incense fragrance featuring notes of ink, sea salt, pink pepper, ambergris, and various fragrant resins. ![]() But how does it stack up to other fragrances from the brand? Squid, a 2019 release from the brand, is meant to evoke the cold, lightless depths of the ocean, where the elusive giant squid roams. Others, like the more recent Chipmunk, are quite palatable and enjoyable. Some Zoologist fragrances are evocative, complex, and challenging fragrances that truly merit the “niche” label. Other fragrances, like Tyrannosaurus Rex, recall the smoky, sulfurous, humid environments of ancient earth and the hard, leathery skin of the king of all dinosaurs. Zoologist’s focus is on recreating the scent of a given animal’s environment, and sometimes even their diet.īat, for example, conjures up the dark, subterranean homes of the titular animal, but juxtaposes it with the tropical fruits that make up a bat’s diet. Canadian niche brand Zoologist Perfumes has made quite the splash in the fragrance world since its founding in 2013. ![]() Plus, they can be switched off, so they don’t appear when printing. Bowl-sized sushi exists in the form of chirashizushi, often called “chirashi sushi” in English speaking countries. The term is therefore applied to pretty much anything that makes use of this rice, be it as small as a bite-sized roll or as large as a full bowl. This first thing to understand is that the word “sushi” refers to the special vinegared rice that is employed in sushi dishes, and not the fish that generally goes with it. The results of this questionnaire indicated that CRISPR‐cas associated technologies are becoming fundamental components of an undergraduate STEM curriculum, even at the introductory level. Of the students identifying as aware of this technology, our survey results indicated their knowledge concerning CRISPR mostly came from a previous course however, the news, social media, podcasts/radio and textbooks were also cited as sources for this information. Pre‐surveys indicated that 76.5% of students (13/17) in a Genetics course were minimally aware of CRISPR‐cas technology, while the remainder of the students either had not heard of the technology or were not sure if they had heard of it. Thus, to determine the prior knowledge level of CRISPR‐cas based technologies, we surveyed undergraduate sophomore‐ junior‐ level Genetics students at the onset of the semester. Broadly speaking, we wondered what the extent of mid to upper‐career science student knowledge was on CRISPR‐cas‐based technology and its uses. CRISPR‐cas technology is bound to impact medicine, agriculture, biosphere, and potentially future generations of humans. We assessed student‐learning outcomes and conclude that this learning module is an effective strategy for teaching undergraduates the fundamentals and application of CRISPR‐cas gene editing technology and can be adapted to other genes and diseases that are currently being treated with CRISPR‐cas technology.ĬRISPR‐cas technology is touted as the “game‐changing technology” for its ability to modify nature at its most fundamental level through the programmable editing of DNA with precision and speed.
